Terry Clekis, DVM
Dr. Clekis earned his DVM a the University of Georgia in 1983. His other notable achievements include:

- Member of the Southwest Florida Veterinary Medical Association
- Board Member of the American Heartworm Society
Laura Eslinger, DVM
Laura Eslinger had dreamed of being a veterinarian for as long as she could remember. A native of Delaware, Laura and her family moved to Bradenton in 1991, where she attended Southeast High School. After graduation, Laura attended the University of South Florida where she received her B.S. in biology with emphasis in pre-veterinary studies. After spending 3 years working as a veterinary assistant, she knew it was time to make her dream come true.
Crystal Berarducci, DVM
Crystal Berarducci has always loved animals. Having moved to Bradenton with her parents 9 years ago, some of our clients might remember her as one of our receptionists as she worked towards earning her bachelors degree in Biology from the University of South Florida.
John Pierce, DVM
Dr. Johnathon Pierce joined Braden River Animal Hospital after practicing in the Midwest for six years. Born and raised in Northeast Ohio, Dr. Pierce graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences from Ohio State University.
Janice Badgley, CVT
Janice has worked with Dr. Clekis for over twenty years as a certified veterinary technician, certified dental technician and Clinical Research Coordinator. WOW! Working for Braden River Animal Hospital, Janice enjoys interacting with our clients and their pets as she manages the ground-breaking partnerships with major clinical research and study trials held here at Braden River.
Debbie’s immersion into the animal world began over twenty-five years ago although she hadn’t quite found her forever home at Braden River Animal Hospital until 2010. Debbie was born in Germany and traveled often as she is the daughter of a retired Army Sergeant.
Doris, our bookkeeper, has been keeping Braden River Animal Hospital in check with her excellent accounting skills since the inception of the practice. Originally from Massachusetts, she obtained an Associate degree in Accounting from Northampton Commercial College.
Judy was born and raised right here in Sarasota and enjoys the Florida lifestyle of living close to the water; and of course the beautiful weather! Judy and her husband Ray have been married for over forty-two years and have two sons, Wesley and Josh.
Dawn is a New England born native who moved to Florida with her family in 1995. Before her move, Dawn worked with her mother as a receptionist at Sherman Hill Animal Hospital for two years in Connecticut. Dawn’s previous experience in the veterinary world brought her here to Braden River Animal Hospital in 2006.
Carina, originally from Wisconsin, has enjoyed residing in sunny Florida for most of her adult life. Carina and her husband have been happily married for over seventeen years and have a daughter and three kitty-fur-children, Peppa, Frankie, and Sushi.
Rachael was born in Bradenton, Florida where she has spent most of her life. She joined Braden River Animal Hospital’s family in 2011 when her mother, the office manager at our practice, Debbie, introduced her to Dr. Clekis and the staff.
Jessica was born here in Florida and raised on beautiful Anna Maria Island which she wouldn’t change for the world. Her favorite part of working for Braden River Animal Hospital is seeing the joy brought to our client’s faces every day after receiving care for their beloved pets.
To escape the cold weather of Wilmington, Massachusetts, Jenna’s family moved to Florida when she was just five years-old. While living here, Jenna has immersed herself in the veterinary world for well over twenty years as a veterinary technician, front office receptionist and client coordinator.
Beth Marcantonio, CVT
Beth was born in Boston, Massachusetts, yet moved with her family to Sarasota where she has spent most of her life. Beth began her journey at Braden River Animal Hospital as a volunteer while studying veterinary technology at St. Petersburg College.
Although born in Atlanta, Sarah has lived with her family in sunny Sarasota for over twelve years. She began her career as a veterinary technician when she originally trained with Braden River’s current office manager, Debbie, over ten years ago.
Barb Cummings, LVT
Barb was born and raised in Syracuse, NY and moved to Florida to attend Biscayne Paramedical Institute in Miami. After graduating in 1980, Barb returned to Syracuse and became a licensed veterinary technician working in small animal, emergency, and zoo medicine.
Originally, from Clearwater, Tammy joined the Braden River Animal Hospital family in 2014. With over twenty years of experience in the field of veterinary medicine, we could not pass up the opportunity to employ Tammy with her forever veterinary home.
Michelle has always wanted to become a veterinarian. She was born and raised in beautiful Sarasota, Florida and is currently pursuing her pre-veterinary requisites at St. Petersburg College as she prepares to apply to a veterinary college in the future.
Julie moved to Florida from California over eight years ago and started volunteering at Braden River Animal Hospital in 2012. While at Braden River, Julie has shown that she is dedicated, compassionate, and hardworking so naturally she became a part of our practice family!
Alyson was born in Palmetto, Florida and raised here on “beaches and sunshine”! She found her forever home at Braden River Animal Hospital in 2013 as a member of the Kennel Staff. Two years later, Alyson was promoted to technician assistant and consistently demonstrates how grateful she is to be provided with an opportunity to, not only gain knowledge through hands on experience, but to do what she loves daily…taking care of pets and people.
Tiffany was born in Orlando, Florida and loves living in the beautiful sunshine state! She enjoys each day at Braden River Animal Hospital and loves learning new ways to care for her own pets. Her fur family consists of a Siberian husky named Ace and, SJ, her yellow Lab.
